“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave nor forsake you.” ~Deuteronomy 31:6
Do you ever go through your day thinking, “I am ok with being alone and taking on the challenges of life on my own. I am a strong and independent individual. Then when guests have gone, daily responsibilities and activities have ceased, the silence can sometimes leave you with that strong sense of loneliness. This is the time to really lean into this promise: God never leaves you. His powerful presence walks beside you every day, offering strength and courage. When the night feels long or the house too still, invite God in that space. Talk to him honestly, share the hopes and desires of your heart. Express your fears that may cause those many sleepless nights. Draw close to him through prayer and worship. Wrap yourself in the divine love, grace, and security of Jesus Christ your friend and savior.
During the time I feel lonely and afraid, I press into him. Sometimes, I just need a full-blown cry as I let go of all my concerns to God. Other times I take a few minutes, say a quick prayer and remind myself, “This, too shall pass.”
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” ~ Deuteronomy 31:8
Prayer:
“Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your patience and grace you show me as I lay down the spirit of loneliness that creeps into my heart and mind at times. Help me to have the confidence and comfort of your presence in my life. Guide me to new and fresh ideas, relationships, and divine encounters that will lift me up with hope and confidence in this chapter of my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.”
