Expecting
Welcoming a baby is one of life’s most joyful and exciting moments. At TLC Pediatrics, we recognize the privilege and responsibility of caring for your newborn and supporting your family during this special time. Choosing a pediatrician is a crucial decision, and we want you to feel confident and comfortable knowing your child’s care is in caring, experienced hands.
We are excited to work with you on this journey, offering guidance, support, and personalized care for you and your baby. Feel free to call our office at (806) 353-7900 with any questions or to schedule your first appointment. Our pediatric team, including Dr. Taghreed Maaytah and Dr. Anders Leverton, is dedicated to providing attentive, personalized care for your baby from their very first days.
If you deliver at one of these hospitals, simply inform your obstetrician and the hospital staff that you have chosen Dr. Maaytah, Dr. Leverton, or TLC Pediatrics as your child’s pediatrician. Our office will be notified of your baby’s birth by the hospital staff. Upon discharge, please contact our office to schedule your baby’s first pediatric visit.
For deliveries at other hospitals, your baby will initially be cared for by the hospital pediatrician, and we will follow up promptly after discharge.
As a courtesy to all expectant parents, TLC Pediatrics provides a “Caring for Your Baby” manual, designed to guide you through the first days and weeks of your newborn’s life and make the transition home as smooth and stress-free as possible.
We share your excitement and joy, and we look forward to partnering with you to nurture your child’s health and well-being from day one.

At TLC Pediatrics of Amarillo, the health and safety of your child is our highest priority. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines for well-child care and immunizations to ensure that infants and children are fully protected against serious and preventable diseases.
We strongly support timely vaccinations and do not recommend alternate vaccine schedules or choosing not to vaccinate, as these can put children and the community at risk. If your vaccination philosophy differs from ours, we encourage you to find a pediatrician whose approach aligns with your preferences.

- Are well-child visits covered 100%?
- What is the copay for well visits or sick visits?
- Are immunizations (vaccines) covered?
If you have any questions about navigating your insurance coverage or communicating with your insurance company, please call our office at 806-353-7900. Our team is happy to help you ensure your child’s care is fully covered and that you have peace of mind.
